    Nikki Cousins – Director and Occupational Therapist

    Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (University of Newcastle, Australia)

    Nikki is an expert Occupational Therapist with experience across Newcastle, the Central Coast and Sydney. Nikki has worked as a senior neurological and general physical Occupational Therapist.

    She has a keen interest in stroke, evidence based practice, aged care, cognitive/perceptual disorders and dementia.

    Nikki has been a conjoint fellow at the University of Newcastle since 2009, completing lectures and tutorials within the undergraduate occupational therapy program.

    Having grown up in the area, Nikki has returned to the Hunter Valley to raise her own family and start a much needed client centred occupational therapy specialist private practice within the region.

    In her spare time, Nikki’s three sons keep her busy and active. In addition to spending time with friends and family, she also enjoys travel, bushwalking, swimming, gardening and experiencing the many delights of the Hunter Valley.

    Megan Radcliffe – Senior Occupational Therapist

    Megan has her Bachelor of Occupational Therapy, which she obtained from the University of Newcastle, Australia.

    Megan is an Occupational Therapist with experience working in the Hunter and the Illawarra regions. She has enjoyed working in inpatient, rehabilitation, community and specialist home modification Occupational Therapy roles.
    Megan has a keen interest in home modifications, equipment prescription, neurological conditions, sensory processing disorders, aged care and supporting mental health – and has the qualifications required by NDIS for assessing for and prescribing complex home modifications.

    Megan was excited to join Action Occupational Therapy in April 2018 and is currently working part time. She is happy to be part of such an enthusiastic, positive, client focused and experienced team.

    Being a Mum to two young boys, a mini Dachshund (and her husband!) keeps her busy, but when gifted with some spare time Megan also enjoys master building Lego creations with her sons, gardening, spending time with family, photography and relaxing with a great coffee!

    Emily Priestley – Office Manager

    Emily began working for Action OT in August 2017. Emily has 18 years experience in the employment, accounting and allied health industries. She has experience in an array of office procedures from reception right through to financial reporting and human resources. Our clients will find her friendly and approachable with a focus on client satisfaction. Emily keeps us very well-organised here at the office.

    Emily grew up in the Maitland area, and is now raising her own 3 young boys (and husband) here too. In her spare time she enjoys tap and jazz dancing, puzzles, and reading a good book.

    Casey Brown – Allied Health Assistant

    Casey is a third-year student, studying a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy at the University of Newcastle. At first, Casey didn’t know what Occupational Therapy involved, but after talking to peers finishing their degree she knew that this was the career she wanted to pursue. “Enabling people to live their life to the fullest and see people happy in what they are achieving is what drew me in this direction.”

    “Studying just wasn’t enough for me, I wanted to be immersed into what this career is all about. Thanks to Nikki for opening the door for me and welcoming me to the team. I am now beginning the journey of my learning and growing with clients.”

    Cassandra Winter – Allied Health Assistant

    Cassandra has her Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance and has been working within the community with people with disabilities for over 2 years. She enjoys assisting people to achieve more independence and to live their full potential at home and in the community. Cass has 2 children and a husband. She enjoys walking and staying in good health, and spending time with family and friends.
